Every figure below is computed from recorded GitHub snapshots. Repos without enough history are left out of gain comparisons instead of estimated. Star-history charts start at the first recorded snapshot, with no pre-tracking estimates.

How the numbers are made

  • Several times a day, GitHub's search API is queried for young repos with real traction and active established repos. Matches join the tracked list; repos not found again for 14 days drop off.
  • Scheduled checks run every 30 minutes and append star and fork observations. Coverage depends on GitHub's available request budget; past snapshots are kept.
  • Daily and weekly gains are the difference between the latest snapshot and the closest snapshot 24 hours or 7 days earlier. Until that snapshot exists, the repo shows "collecting data" and has no rank.
